Goncharov Escapes! is a short car-chase interactive game, created for the One-Button Jam and the Goncharov Jam.By using Quick-Time-Events, the game allowed player agency while following the one-button rule, forcing them to click the link or wait for the timer to run out to trigger the next passage - an unsual gameplay for an IF game.
Submitted to the Goncharov Jam, the game was set in the universe of Goncharov, the fictional Martin Scrocese movie from the 70s, from a meme having blown up on Tumblr during November 2022. The game hopes to subvert player's expectations through perspective switches.
Goncharov Escapes! was also nominated for Outstanding Short Game and Outstanding Twine Game at the 2022 IFDB Awards.
During summer 2023, Goncharov Escapes! was remastered to include sound, and translated into French.
The game can be played on touchscreen, with a mouse, or a keyboard.

Being this short and not needing anything to be added to it is just proof of the writer's skills. I highly reccomend to everyone to give this game a try.

I was shocked to learn this was just a [SPOILER]. The tension was thick in the beginning but I guess that's the testament to the actors acting skills.

Great idea! Having some kind of QTE in a textuel interactive fiction is not a common sight. And I love the fact that it can really send to different paths.
