Involvement in the IF Community

Competitions and Games Jams

Since the end of 2022, I have been involved in the organisation of Interactive Fiction Competitions and Games Jams. Some where I have been in an Advisory or Support position, while I spearheaded and organised others.

SeedComp!

Starting as a wild idea in an IntFic thread, the SeedComp! is a 2-round competition focusing on creativity and the growth of Ideas. The competition was put together in about 14 days.
During the first round, creators could submit a seed of any medium or format. In the seconde, participants would use those seeds to create a new game.
The first edition of the SeedComp! ran from December 2022 to March 2023.

Neo Twiny Jam!

As a commemoration of the Twiny Jam, a historical IF event organised by Porpentine, Neo Twiny Jam was a small game jam that ran during June 2023. This unranked jam became a fundraiser, raising over $500- for Equality Florida.
The jam had only one constraint: every participant was limited to 500 words. How they chose to utilise those, tell their story, or which IF format to use, was left to them.
Unlike the original jam, this one was open to all IF programs.

Anti-Romance Jam

Open to all mediums, including non-IF entries, the Anti-Romance Jam fostered a space for creators to reflect on the themes of romance and its antonyms. The jam ran from May 2023 to July 2023.
For this unranked event, I provided support and assistance in moderation and promotion of the event.

Orifice Jam

Inspired by the work of Porpentine, the Orifice Jam hoped to inpire creators to explore the cavernous caves of non-traditional and NSFW IF.
This unranked jam ran from June 2023 to August 2023.

Single Choice Jam

As the first official event of the NeoInteractives collective, the Single Choice Jam tried to challenge creators, by forcing them to include only one choice in their game.
Running from July 2023 to August 2023, the unranked jam welcomed all form of IF.

Bare-Bones Jam

Another event of the NeoInteractives collective, the Bare-Bones Jam tried to challenge creators, by prohibiting any change in the interface of the chosen program (i.e. edit the CSS).
Running throughout October 2023, the unranked jam welcomed all form of IF.
